From Passion to Career
Every since I was a teen, I have had what many call, “a strange obsession” with old things. This could range from a multitude of items such as old rusted ceiling tiles to 1950’s postcards I found in my grandma’s closet. I often think I was born in the wrong era, as I dream of the days where women sat in their living rooms drinking tea with friends, while their husbands sat on the patio smoking their pipes. I won’t rant on any further, I’m sure you have gotten the picture that I am an old soul stuck in the 21st century.
Anyhow, when my husband and I made the decision to make a career out of real estate, I was excited for a number of reasons…I was excited to own a business together, which in turn has helped us grow even closer in our marriage. I was excited to help families into home ownership, and I was excited to turn out-dated homes into something spectacular…a perfect fit for my love of old things!
So last year, we started flipping houses. We started small with our first project being a house that just needed a face lift. Once we were completed, we sold it within 48 hours…a huge blessing and the confidence boost we needed to take on another one. Onto our second flip, a total gut job. This house was structurally sound, but hadn’t been touched since the original owners moved into it in the 1950’s. We have been able to restore so much of its original beauty and revitalize so many unique characteristics the house was built with, which melts my heart ❤️. As we near the completion of this house and gear up to move onto our next flip, my heart aches because I am sad to say goodbye to flip #2. Restoring this house has brought me so much happiness and I can’t wait for whoever purchases it to fall in love with it like I have.
Check back in a few weeks for open house info, as well as a multitude of photos!
